The Roundabout Is Coming to Buda — Here’s What We Know

If you’ve driven down RM 967 lately and wondered what all that construction is about, it’s one of the bigger new developments coming to West Buda.

It’s called The Roundabout, and despite the name, we’re not just talking about another traffic circle.

Located at 1141 RM 967, about a mile from Downtown Buda, The Roundabout is an approximately 18-acre mixed-use development planned to include nine buildings with restaurants, retail, medical and professional space, and plenty of areas designed for people to actually hang out.

Plans also include outdoor gathering spaces, trails, playgrounds, recreation, live entertainment, and connections to the surrounding community. Developers are even incorporating activities like pickleball into the project.

And it’s officially moving forward. The Roundabout held its community groundbreaking in September, with construction now underway. The first phase is currently projected to open in late 2026, with additional portions of the development following in 2027.

One of the more interesting parts of the project is its location. RM 967 has become one of Buda’s major growth corridors, particularly with neighborhoods like Garlic Creek, Whispering Hollow, and other West Buda communities nearby.

Of course, more development also means more traffic. Plans surrounding the project have included improvements at RM 967 and Oyster Creek, including a proposed traffic signal.

For those of us who live and work around Buda, The Roundabout will definitely be one to watch. If everything comes together as planned, it could become another great spot to eat, shop, play, and spend an evening without having to head into Austin.

Buda keeps growing—and The Roundabout is another sign of what’s coming next.
